We're seeking new Trustees to strengthen our Board and help us work towards a world where carers are seen, heard and included.

What will you be doing?

We benefit from a highly dedicated Board of up to ten Trustees, each committed and motivated to help the Charity realise its ambitions to do more for and with those we support.

Trustees have a collective responsibility to ensure the charity has a clear vision and strategy and fulfills it's purpose and aims. Your personal experience as a carer and/or your professional or technical experience will bring fresh insight and expertise to our decision making.

There is a full description of a Trustee's responsibilities in the candidate pack.

What are we looking
for?

We are looking for people willing to bring their skills, experience and energy to the role and who will broaden the diversity of thinking on our Board. We are ideally looking for individuals with previous Trustee/governance experience, however appropriate Trustee training can be provided for a new Trustee if required.

We are particularly interested in hearing from people with experience and skills in digital; technology and/or data; health and social care; finance, business and HR.

We are committed to becoming a more diverse, inclusive and equal organisation and an important part of this is to work towards ensuring our Board better represents the demographics of our service users.

We welcome candidates of all backgrounds, identities and experiences. We would particularly welcome applications from people with experience of being a carer; living with a disability; who are of working age and/or who are from Black, Asian or other minoritised ethnic groups.

What difference will you make?

Three out of five of us will at some point in our lives be an unpaid carer to a family member or friend. It is a role we often don’t chose but can be wonderful as well as tough. With 30,000 carers registered and rising this a charity where you can make a huge difference to so many people’s lives.

"I came to the charity because I am determined those with a family and friend caring role receive all the support and advice that experts and society can offer, as they carry out a vital role for those they care for". – Philip Lansberry, Trustee
