About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Crawley Borough Council’s Parking Services team to make a real difference to the town of Crawley, its people, and our communities.
As Senior Parking Services Officer you will deliver an efficient, effective, and high-quality customer focussed Notice Processing and Parking Service, therefore experience of working at all stages of Notice processing is essential.
You will be responsible for ensuring legal compliance along with high standards of customer service to both residents and visitors to Crawley. You will be leading the operational back-office service and dealing with any aspect of notice processing that arise. This will include the interpretation and enforcement of legislation and compliance with council policy in relation to on and off-street parking controls throughout the Borough, including; abandoned vehicles, managing permit administration for controlled parking zones and the Councils car parks, preparing statistical information, dealing with complaints and supporting the civil parking enforcement teams to work at their best.
You will lead a team of three that delivers a blend of front line, face-to-face and back-office services therefore to be successful you must have excellent communication skills and a proven passion for customer service to deliver the service level required but also to positively influence and empower your team to do the same.
To be successful, you will have experience of all stages of notice processing, experience of line management and be computer literate.
Additional information
The Flexible Working Scheme applies to this post, if the service is sufficiently covered by the team during the core hours of the service 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
This post has a responsibility to ensure the team provide a face-to-face service between 9am to 4pm in Crawley Town Hall. However, our hybrid working scheme with a blend of office and home working is available for this post.
The post holder must have a valid, current, UK manual driving licence and be able to use suitable alternative methods of transport throughout the borough where needed.
Satisfactory clearance of a standard disclosure and barring check (DBS) is a condition of employment.
