About the role
We are recruiting for a Senior Internal Controls Lead to support the Head of Internal Controls in improving financial, operational and IT control and risk management processes across the James Fisher Group. We are flexible on where you work and will consider hybrid working from home and one of our offices in either Barrow, Bamber Bridge, St Helens or Knutsford.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Promoting and supporting the deployment of the Internal Controls Framework
- Guide and facilitate individual James Fisher Group operating companies in remediating control gaps identified through the internal controls assessment process, self-assessment and internal and external audits.
- Lead the embedding of a new internal control framework within individual James Fisher Group operating companies including through innovative process and system re-engineering.
- Facilitate and participate in an internal testing programme within the operating companies to demonstrate ongoing compliance with control requirements.
- Provide regular reports on progress towards remediation, embedding of controls and testing outcomes.
What do you need?
We are looking for individuals with experience of risk basedInternal Control, Internal Audit or External Audit or similar role either from practice or industry. You must have change management experience and have acted as a project or audit lead. You should be able to influence across of levels of finance and operational management and be an excellent communicator.
Whilst it’s not essential it would be highly advantageous if you have experience of working in a US SOX environment, ideally in an implementing role and have previous experience of Lean principles roll-out.
