Job Title: SEND Teacher – ARP Unit

Location: Dagenham Heathway, Barking and Dagenham

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

Contract Type: long term 5 days a week, full-time

Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SEND Teacher to join our supportive and dynamic three form entry primary school based in Dagenham Heathway, Barking and Dagenham. The successful candidate will work within our ARP unit, which caters for children with Autism.

The role will involve working closely with the ARP team to plan and deliver differentiated and engaging lessons that cater for the specific needs of our children with Autism. You will be responsible for developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and working collaboratively with our Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists to ensure that our children receive the best possible support and care.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons to children with Autism, following the National Curriculum

Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for each child, in collaboration with parents and the ARP team

Provide ongoing assessment and monitoring of progress, using a range of assessment tools

Work closely with the ARP team, Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists to ensure that the needs of all children are met

Maintain accurate records and provide regular feedback to parents, senior leadership team and external professionals as required

Attend and contribute to meetings and training sessions as required

Contribute to the development of the ARP unit and wider school community

Qualifications and Experience:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

At least 2 years' previous experience working with children with Autism

Experience of working in an ARP unit is highly desirable

Excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum and SEND Code of Practice

Ability to plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons

Ability to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work collaboratively with a range of professionals
