Appetite Research – Eating behaviour, Obesity and Health
Are you interested in mental and physical health, energy-balance behaviours, weight management and health inequalities? Do you have experience managing research projects?
We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow to join the newly appointed Head of School Professor Jason Halford, to develop research into eating behaviours, weight management, food choice, and mental and physical health. The research will be a collaboration with colleagues across the University of Leeds1st Thousand Days, N8 Child of the North and local and national stakeholders. Professor Jason Halford, who has interests in i) appetite control in obesity in the context of treatment, ii) stigma and weight bias, iii) psychological determinants of treatment outcome, iv) food choice, labelling, and marketing, and v) food insecurity, mental health, and inequalities. An interest in early determinants of obesity welcome.
You will act as the project manager for this research and will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the research which will be based at Leeds University, and/or part of larger consortia, and will input into the design of experimental studies, observational research, large scale questionnaire studies, qualitative evaluations, and interventions.
