About the role
We know you are out there! Could you be our Reception Administrator? Come and visit or call the office to find out more.
Southfield School is not just a Special School but a very special school, with a friendly and dedicated staff team and high aspirations for our pupils.
The new Headteacher arrived in the autumn term and you will be joining us at an exciting time of change. There is the opportunity for you to shape the direction of the administrative support function and really make a difference to the life and operation of the school, for the benefit of staff and pupils alike.
Ideally, you will already be working in a Hertfordshire school environment. You will be an excellent communicator and proficient with IT.
The Reception Administrator will be the first point of contact for pupils, staff, parents and carers, and all other visitors and stakeholders. The successful candidate will be friendly and professional and have a clear vision for how to create an effective operational office, in order to promote and deliver a first-class support service to the staff.
This is a key post and we are looking for someone with energy and enthusiasm who will uphold our vision to promote high expectations and aspirations for all. You will be:
- Capable, confident and ‘can do’ – happy to work and make decisions autonomously
- Calm, unflappable, and able to deliver results under pressure
- Cheerful, and willing to go the extra mile to make the office run smoothly
Please use the person specification section of the application form to tell us about your skills and experience, and how you meet the above criteria as well as the attributes specified in the job description.
Core working hours are 13:30 – 16:30 Monday to Thursday and 8:30 – 16:30 Friday, 42 weeks per year.
All support posts are subject to completion of a satisfactory six-month probationary period.
We are an inclusive school and are committed to equality of opportunity for all staff; and applications from individuals are encouraged regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage and civil partnerships.
We warmly welcome visits prior to application. Please telephone 01707 276504 to make an appointment to meet with the Headteacher, Angela O’Rourke, or email Angela at [email protected].
The school is committed to safeguarding children and young people. All post holders are subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
