QUALITY ENGINEER TECHNICIAN – INJECTION/ BLOW MOULDING

GREATER MANCHESTER / LANCASHIRE

Salary Depending on experience + company pension scheme + 25 days holiday and bank holidays.

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5pm with some variation including overtime.

Our client is a well-established manufacturer of plastic products supplied to major UK and European companies. Well known for their design, development, and manufacture of bespoke products to suit customer specifications.

They are looking to recruit a Quality Engineering Technician to add support to their Manufacturing Team.

Responsibilities:

To operate or use measuring equipment associated with the development and maintenance of production jigs and fixtures and/or production tooling, and also to periodically measure produced parts.

Most significant is a Romer measuring arm, with probes and scanning heads, using PCDMIS software from Hexagon or equivalent.

Will carry out accurate dimensional checks to CAD or print.

May be required to develop and use other testing equipment.

Will be tasked periodically to conduct statistical studies, such as MSA, Gauge R & R, SPC, etc. and prepare reports.

Also, will arrange calibration and maintenance of some testing and measuring equipment.

To maintain all associated computer records within an electronic Quality Management system, for which training will be given.

May be asked to deputise for the Quality Engineer in the supervision of the daily operation of the internal audit function.

To liaise with Customers or Suppliers on matters of concern.

There may be a requirement to perform measurement studies at customers sites.

Requirements:

Understanding of Quality Systems; ideally with Engineering or Quality qualifications.

Computer literate with standard Office software.

Audit experience would be beneficial to ISO9001 standard as a minimum.

Experience of contributing to investigations into customer concerns is desirable.

Experience in other areas of compliance such as H&S or Environmental Management may also be valuable.

High-level interpersonal communication skills.

A high level of attention to detail and organisation skills are also crucial parts of this role to compile data and track testing specifications.
