What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Assisting with issues and service requests logged with the IT service desk
  • Liaising with customers and IT team colleagues to setup and deliver client hardware, such as mobile devices
  • Monitoring and maintaining systems and platforms to maximise productivity and user experience.
  • Assisting in an array of IT roles supporting business critical requirements and focus on customer solutions.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will be working towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician apprenticeship.

The apprenticeship training will be delivered via block-delivery in a state-of-the-art classroom environment, from the EMA Digital Hub on Siddals Road, Derby.

The qualification has core knowledge elements, before branching out into 3 pathways, which are as follows:

  • IT Support Technician
  • Network Technician
  • Digital Communications Technician

The employer and training provider will agree on which is the most appropriate pathway, and this will influence the project as part of the end-point assessment.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • Progression onto a L4 apprenticeship programme
  • Progression into a full-time position
