Supporting the full employee lifecycle. You will Be a standalone point of contact for employees across the company for general HR queries processing within the appropriate time frame and with exceptional attention to detail.

HR Policy. You’ll develop, implement, communicate to colleagues, and maintain HR policies and procedures in liaison with the Head of People.

HR Strategy. You’ll also develop and implement annual strategic HR plans including goals, activities, performance indicators and budget in liaison with the Head of People.

Recruitment and onboarding. You’ll recruit, onboard, retain and develop the best staff for all posts at all levels. You will assist with the preparation of staff documentation, terms and conditions, contract variations, employment, and tenancy references.

Learning & Development. You’ll advise Managers on the management and development of their staff, including addressing the issue of underperformance. You will maintain the training logs for all colleagues. Lead on Learning and Development, including undertaking an annual skills audit and working with Managers to ensure all learning and development pathways are suitable, affordable, and undertaken with reviews after the training.

Payroll. You’ll lead on the salary review process and payroll and regularly evaluate the benefits ALCS supplies it colleagues and negotiate annual benefit renewals.

Health & Safety. You will become the company Health and Safety champion, be willing to train as a first aider and fire marshal.

To be considered for this role, you must…

Be an experienced HR manager in a standalone environment. Our client needs the successful candidate to be able to hit the ground running, so a couple of years’ experience operating at this level is ideal.

Be proactive and show lots of initiative in the way you work. As you will working independently it’s important that you are a self-starter and are happy working in this way!

Be process driven and comfortable working to deadlines. Our client is a fast-paced process-driven membership organisation so being able to work in this way is a must.

Be a confident communicator. You will be the go-to person for all employees (around 50) so it’s important that you feel comfortable working with employees, line managers and the leadership team and can communicate well with different stakeholders.

Have experience working with UK employment law, and be CIPD qualified or have an equivalent qualification / certification.
