Job Description

Based at our Northbrook Broadwater and Shoreham Airport Campuses

Full-time – 37 hours per week, permanent

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Northbrook management team as Head of Learning for Broadwater and Shoreham campus. We are looking for an inspirational leader with a passion to maintain and grow partnerships and the ability to motivate teaching and support teams to deliver an outstanding student experience. As a Head of Learning, you will report to the Vice Principal and be part of a Head of Learning team responsible for the direct line management of teaching and support staff at our Broadwater and Shoreham Airport Campus.  

The successful candidate will have:

Main purpose and scope of the post:

To deliver an annual set of KPIs as agreed with the Vice Principal.

To promote high standards of teaching, learning and assessment within the area, producing high standards of student achievement, progression and value added.

To undertake quality improvement activities to support the curriculum area needs and promote new ways of learning.

To lead the strategic growth of the curriculum area in all areas of provision to include funded and non funded courses.

To promote the strong, positive reputation of the curriculum area and the college, through relationships with external stakeholders, schools, employers and parents.

To work collaboratively and innovatively with staff to ensure a culture of self-assessment and continuous improvement.

You will require demonstrable record of promoting teaching, learning and assessment to a consistently high standard and have knowledge and understanding of curriculum delivery planning and administration within Further/ Higher Education.

You will be responsible for managing budgets, physical resources and supervising or managing a team.

You should hold a Certificate in Education or Post Graduate Certificate in Education (or equivalent); hold a Level 3 qualification in a relevant area and have a Level 2 Literacy, numeracy and ICT qualification.
