The University of East London are seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to lead our Nursing and Midwifery department as Head of Department. This is a senior leadership role that offers an exciting opportunity to shape and support UEL’s strong profile in the education of future health workers.

With UEL’s nursing programmes growing significantly over the past few years, this is an exciting time to join our enthusiastic team of academics who are able to shape and influence our growing nursing provision.

The successful candidate will hold NMC registration as a nurse, current NMC-recorded teaching qualification, a relevant master’s degree, and HEA Fellowship. A detailed understanding of health and social care practice at regional and national level, including workforce commissioning, plus evidence of partnership working with health employers and the care sector is essential to the role. Additionally, you will need experience of validation, quality assurance and review with professional bodies and employers within the NHS and wider health care sector.

We are looking for someone who can engage with teaching, learning, and assessment at a high level, using a variety of innovative methods and approaches to include practical learning, with experience of managing the overall nursing and midwifery student experience.
