More about your role  

This role is part of our 2023 graduate programme, known internally as our Emerging Talent programme. As our Graduate Service Charge Accountant, you will join RMG, our private residential managing agents, one of Places for People many subsidiaries.  

In this role you will be initially given a chance to build a foundation knowledge of financial processes including budgets, systems, reporting and general industry knowledge before moving into a more specialist role to learn the role of a Service Charge Accountant. As you gain confidence  your role will increase in complexity including responsibility for your own property portfolio   

The start date for this role is September 2023 which will include a week long induction in Leeds in which you will be introduced to various members of the Executive Team, take a tour of some of Places for People housing stock and be given plenty of social time to get to know other members of the Emerging Talent 2023 cohort. 

You will join a team of 6 based out of our Hoddesdon, giving you the ability to network, build relationships and learn from each other on a daily basis. You'll also work alongside our outsourced team basd in India. This is an office-based role will an expectation for you to be onsite every day.  

The two-year programme will support you to develop the core skills, behaviours and technical ability to develop into a Service Charge Accountant with your own portfolio to manage.

More about you  

You'll be educated to a graduate-level with a degree within a related specialism such as Maths, Business Studies, Accounting, Finance or any other related degree with a element of numeracy skills involved. 

The successful candidate will need experience with Microsoft Excel, this will be discussed during interview to understand your experience of formulas and data manipulation.  

Being able to able to operate in a high-pressure environment with tight deadline without sacrificing the quality or detail required is essential to success in this role.  You'll be empowered to you own time and priorities, with support given to develop this skill set.
