The role

Our finance function is on a journey with some exciting transformational projects underway.

This role is a blend between traditional FP&A Analysis and business partnering.

Where you can truly add value will be in your ability to manipulate large volumes of data by bringing it to life, telling the story and identifying trends to provide meaningful insight.

We are looking to develop our capability with Power BI tools which we can provide training on and see this becoming a powerful tool for you to work with and evolve as a part of this role.

Role purpose:

Provide analysis of financial and non-financial data from multiple sources to support operational decision making and help the Senior Leadership Team understand the current and future potential financial, commercial and operational performance and efficiency of the Group and/or business divisions.

Business Partnering/Analytical Role

Production and development of key reporting packs including weekly flash results, monthly MI, department dashboards to support decision making and track performance against KPIs.

Conduct in-depth analysis of P&L performance, understanding revenue & cost drivers, and highlight risks or opportunities to plan.

Working with key leaders to analyse key commercial drivers/decisions and their financial and operational impact on the business e.g., pricing, margin, purchasing, capex investment, marketing effectiveness, volume analysis, rebates, customer analysis, customer services performance, capacity optimisation.

Ownership & development of models for analysing internal and external sources of industry and competitor data and using this data to assess impact and potential opportunities.

Ownership of key reconciliations across data systems (operating system, management reporting, BI) supporting “one version of the truth” data construct.

Supporting senior leadership team with report content.

Maintaining an impartial view supported by strong data analytics.

Analysis of competitor activity to help inform for key decision making e.g. pricing.

Ad hoc analysis as required by senior management or other departments in the Group.

Budgeting/Forecasting

Co-ordinating departmental budget/forecast submissions.

Analysing previous budgets and forecasts and performing variance analysis

Production of key budget/forecast, input assumptions, and provide challenge where appropriate.

Contribute to the development of budget/forecast models to understand future performance and guide business strategy.

Support in preparing board & banking presentations.

Systems & Data

Assist in implementation of BI reporting tool including requirements gathering, tool selection and report design. Assist in data management and consistency.

About you

Strong FP&A Analyst / Commercial Finance Analyst / Finance Business Partner background with the ability to manipulate large volumes of data, adding value by identifying and communicating the story and trends.

Experience in developing and designing reports & using BI tools (e.g. (Power BI, Google analytics, Hotjar) would be beneficial although not essential. We can provide training as these tools will become an integral part to the future of this role.

Highly numerate with experience of statistics data analysis.

Driven, problem solver with a desire to learn new skills & systems to further career progression and develop the role.

Commercial acumen with gravitas and credibility.

Full / part qualified / working towards a CIMA / ACCA qualification. Ongoing career development will be supported.

Advanced Excel skills (knowledge of advanced formulae/Power Query etc).

Detail orientated without losing sight of the big picture.
