The Role

The Development Office at the University of London is seeking a motivated, entrepreneurial, results-orientated, and enthusiastic individual to join its successful fundraising team. Working closely with Head of Development, the post-holder will be responsible for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gifts (£5,000+) from individuals and organisations in the UK and abroad in support of the University’s ambitious fundraising priorities.

This is an exciting time to join the Development Office as we are gearing towards significant fundraising campaign that will make a real difference to our people, our programmes and our buildings.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to connect with people at different levels.
  • Ability to produce compelling funding proposals.
  • Ability to build professional relationships both in person and online.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively and to agreed deadlines.
  • High standard of organisation, including the sensitive handling of personal and organisational data
  • Enthusiasm for the University’s projects and strategic priorities, with the ability to motivate and enthuse others.
  • An informed understanding of fundraising and securing and stewarding major gifts is desirable, but we encourage candidates with the above essential attributes to apply.

The University currently operates a Hybrid Working framework involving a mix of working remotely and in the office. Typically, the majority of employees will be able to agree to work remotely for up to 60% of their working week, role dependent, however will be required to attend on specific days for training or team meetings.
