Design Coordinator
Building Careers UK Ltd
Salford, Greater Manchester
Job Description
I've a great opportunity for a Design Coordinator to work on an exciting new development of new build homes in Bolton. This isn't your average Housing Developer delivering your average 3,4,5 bed box houses on a boring brownfield…
My client are one of the fastest growing housing developers in the region.
From their Manchester base they've grown significantly over the past 5 years – turnover has grown three-fold and they currently have around 400 housing units in construction. Growth has been that significant that they're currently discussing a brand new office!
Delivering mainly for key repeat clients in the affordable housing market, they are helping to transform communities throughout Greater Manchester, Lancashire and beyond.
Owing to their continued growth, and a project which has just been granted planning permission (set to begin construction in late summer 2023) they require a Technical/Design Coordinator to focus – for the coming 3 years – entirely on.
The project is a brand new development of new homes (consisting private sale, rent & affordable) and associated but significant civils works & public realm works. It'll be a wonderful project, set on the site of an old mill and will bring much needed new housing to the area.
The civils works themselves are really exciting and again, not something you find on your standard new build housing site.
My client require a Technical/Design Coordinator, preferably with a background tilted towards engineering (with a strong competency on architecture and reviewing architect drawings etc) to join them to work solely on this project. (obviously future projects would come but once the next 3 years has passed!)
The role will hold responsibility for dealing with all aspects of the planning condition discharges, working with consultants for the detailed design of the civils works, adoption agreements etc.
The wider development will take circa 3 years and once the project is underway in summer 2023, the role will also carry responsibility for dealing with all LABC new home warranties & the local council building control matter across the various residential elements.
The intention is to focus – for the next 6 months – on undertaking remaining site investigations and detailed designs to allow them to start on site in late summer.
The role carries a salary negotiable from £40,000 to £50,000 for the right candidate.
An accompanying package would include car allowance, 24 days of annual leave, pension at 5% matched and profit share bonus scheme.
