The Manchester College has many Campus locations across Greater Manchester, each with its own specialist cutting-edge facilities within a friendly and supportive environment. We are the largest Further Education College in the UK providing education and training to a wide range of learners. 

We have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Department Team Leader in the Foundation Learning Department on a permanent, full-time basis (37 hours per week). This role will have responsibility for leading our 14/15 Alternative and Pupil Referral Unit provision as well as our 16-18 provision for learners with particular support requirements around their social, emotional and mental health.

As a member of the College Management Team and one of a team of Departmental Team Leaders within your area, you will report to the Director of Curriculum in the management and operation of the Department. You will be required to deliver and promote high quality, student focused teaching and learning. You will be required to co-ordinate and monitor internal and external standards. You will be responsible for line management of teaching and support staff as allocated by the Director to ensure delivery of an outstanding quality focused education.

You will work with the Director for Curriculum to ensure the effective management and deployment of resources is in line with budget allocations. Your role will include the collection, analysis and reporting of data.

Essential:

  • Degree Level Qualification or relevant industrial experience or professional qualification
  • Numeracy and literacy skills (to level 2 or equivalent)
  • Experience of delivering provision to similar groups of learners
  • Recognised teaching qualification
  • Qualified to deliver curriculum, internally verify and moderate qualifications and awards
