Salary: Pro rata of £23,032 up to £24,717 inclusive annual salary + up to 19.7% employer pension contribution

St Albans Museums runs several sites including Verulamium Museum, the 15th century Clock Tower and the new St Albans Museum + Gallery, at the heart of the city centre.

Recently, our museum service successfully secured funding from Arts Council England as part of the National Portfolio Organisation programme which is funding this post.
Managed by the Commercial Services Manager, this role will see you working across our museums and National Portfolio Organisation programme of activities including providing administrative support for our retail offer on site and online, our events and venue hire packages as well as work with our catering partner.
In this post you will provide administrative and practical support to the Museum Service for the delivery of St Albans Museums’ growing portfolio of commercial activities across retail, venue hire and catering and you will support the optimisation of income generation and growth. Highly organised, with superb attention to detail and the ability to support a varied portfolio of work are essential qualities for this position.
Educated to GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English you will also have experience in working in an administrative role. Excellent customer service skills, including good telephone manner, email correspondence and the ability to deal with third parties and the public calmly and effectively is essential for this post. A keen interest in working within the museums, heritage and culture sector is desirable.
