What will the apprentice be doing?
- Produce civil engineering drawings using software-based design tools including AutoDesk Civils 3D, Site 3D and Infodrain
- Preparation of drawings and working closely on construction plans with clients, architects, contractors and other professionals
- Preparation of information for inclusion in Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Impact Assessments
- Developing design ideas using Building Information Modelling (BIM) software
- Managing project directions, drawing management and paper filing system’s ensuing all work complies with company procedures and standards
- Preliminary Civil design works under supervisions of engineers
- Collaborate with the rest of the Civils team in the delivery of outputs to agreed deadlines
- Liaise with the client and design teams on active projects and to manage and procure deliverables on time
- Careful management of project time recording
- Work effectively within a team and contribute ideas concisely
- Liaise with clients confidently through effective communication and collaboration
- Attend Design Team Meetings
- Run the day-to-day workings of a project with assistance from the Principal Engineer/Director of the team
- The candidate will receive relevant training to use software needed to design and deliver a project successfully
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Apprentices will be working towards the BEng Civil and
Infrastructure Engineering Degree.
Apprentices will be based in our London office working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday and will attend six week-long, residential blocks of study per year at the University of Warwick, supported by online learning.
Functional Skills in maths and English, if required.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
On successful completion of your apprenticeship there are a wealth of career opportunities for you to progress to graduate engineer and further towards senior role within our business. You will also have the opportunity to undertake further study to become a Chartered Engineer. We are an approved employer for ICE Training Scheme, able to support students and graduates towards Chartered (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status.

Things to consider
We are looking for a motivated, organised individual that will be able to manage between work and study. The candidate will be working in our London office alongside a team of engineers and technicians, with travel to the University Warwick for residential study, consisting of one-week blocks of face-to-face teaching, supported by online learning. Student accommodation is provided for the face-to-face teaching weeks. Costs of travel and accommodation for the week blocks will be supported within the role.
