Job overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and well organised individual to join our friendly team, as an administrator for the Genomics Laboratory
You must be able to work both independently and within a team; you will provide an efficient and effective administration service. You will need excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritise your workload and work well under pressure. Liaise with staff at all levels in a confident manner and be willing to learn, and work proactively on your own initiative. Having excellent attention to detail is essential. You should have excellent verbal, written, IT and customer care skills with a good understanding and practical experience of Microsoft applications. You must be well presented, friendly and welcoming to all and uphold our Values of Together, Safe, Kind, and Excellent at all times.
Main duties of the job
To receive goods and supplies deliveries and ensuring relevant staff are informed of the arrival of such deliveries.
Update staff records using Healthroster (Trust electronic system) including payroll information for new starters, bank staff, overtime, sickness absence, HR forms, etc.
To support the operational requirements of the Genomics Laboratory
To organise meetings including booking rooms and AV equipment and to take accurate minutes of meetings.

Knowledge
Essential criteria
Educated to GCSE level or equivalent. NVQ level 2 Customer Service/ Business Admin Or Equivalent professional experience
Desirable criteria
Secretarial qualification or equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
Experience of working in a busy office environment or reception role. Experience of prioritising, planning and organising own tasks. Working within guidelines. Experience of customer service or dealing with the public. Data entry. Experience of IT packages – Microsoft Office.
Desirable criteria
Previous experience of working in the NHS. Experience of call handling. Experience of dealing with difficult situations and confrontations.
Knowledge
Essential criteria
