What will the apprentice be doing?
- Bookkeeping and record keeping for clients using Excel and other accounting packages such XERO, SAGE and Quickbooks.
- Liaising with clients and colleagues.
- Preparation of VAT, EC Sales, Intrastat returns and Tax Returns.
- Preparation of statutory accounts from client’s accounting software and client records.
- Preparation of management accounts.
- Various ad hoc work and assignments.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
AAT Level 2 Finance/Accounts Assistant, which includes:
- You'll have AAT exams including bookkeeping controls, bookkeeping transactions, and more.
- Modules covering Skills, Knowledge, and Behaviours in Finance.
- You'll have a personal tutor to guide you through your training.
- You will attend 1:1 sessions with your tutor every 2/3 weeks.
- End Point Assessment (online).
- Occasional group classes with other learners.
- Access to MyAAT for learning material.
- AAT Level 2 certificate.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
The initial role will give the apprentice an opportunity to receive excellent and comprehensive on the job training, the firm will provide all the support necessary to obtain an AAT qualification. For the right candidate, there will be an opportunity to proceed to obtaining an ACA or ACCA qualification with the firm in due course.
